If you're using a slatted bed base without an additional supporting surface, the wooden slats should be at least 9 cm wide and spaced no more than 8 cm apart.
Slats spaced too far apart may allow the mattress to sag between them, potentially damaging the mattress fabric and affecting its support and performance over time.
