10-Year Mattress & Bed Base Warranty

All Comfi mattresses and bed bases are covered by a 10-year warranty provided by Comfi against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship, beginning from the original date of purchase.

The warranty applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable if the product is resold.

During the warranty period, if a mattress or bed base is found to have a manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship, Comfi may repair or replace the product at its discretion.

This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or damage caused by misuse or negligence.

Making a warranty claim

If you believe your mattress or bed base has a manufacturing fault, email hello@comfi.co.nz or call 0508 GET COMFI (0508 438 266) to begin the warranty process.

Please keep your proof of purchase and leave all barcode labels and manufacturing tags attached to your mattress or bed base, as these may be required to identify the product and assess your claim.

Depending on the nature and location of the product, an inspection by a Comfi representative or authorised agent may be required.

If a manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship is confirmed following assessment, Comfi will repair or replace the product in accordance with the warranty terms and applicable consumer law.

Transport and inspection costs

Customers are initially responsible for arranging and paying for transport of their mattress or bed base to the nominated manufacturer or assessment location.

If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, reasonable transport costs will be reimbursed.

If no manufacturing defect is identified, the customer may be responsible for transport costs and any applicable service, repair or replacement costs.

These conditions are subject to your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

Warranty conditions

Proof of purchase must be provided when making a warranty claim.

The 10-year warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear, including normal body impressions and dipping in mattresses.

  • Accidental or deliberate damage, abuse, misuse or negligence.

  • Damage caused during transportation.

  • Personal comfort preferences or an unsuitable mattress choice, including firmness or suitability for an individual's body type.

  • Damage or product failure caused by an unsuitable, sagging or non-supportive bed base or foundation, including excessive gaps between slats or unsuitable narrow tubing.

  • Damage to bed base legs or frames caused by incorrect fitting or installation.

  • Product failure resulting from circumstances other than defects in materials or workmanship.

An unsuitable mattress choice does not constitute a manufacturing defect. If your concern relates to the comfort or suitability of your mattress rather than a manufacturing fault, please refer to our 100 Night Rest Easy Trial.

These exclusions do not limit your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

Caring for your mattress

Please leave all border labels, barcode labels and manufacturing tags attached to your mattress, as these may be required to identify the product when assessing a warranty claim.

Your mattress should be used with an appropriately supportive bed base or foundation. Where your bed base has legs, ensure they are securely fitted.

We also recommend using a mattress protector to help keep your mattress clean.

Damage resulting from improper use or care may not be covered by the warranty. This does not affect your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

Repair or replacement

Where a valid manufacturing fault is identified, Comfi may repair or replace the affected part, mattress or base subject to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

Where identical materials are no longer available, materials of equivalent quality may be substituted.

What isn't a manufacturing fault?

Normal wear and tear, minor body impressions resulting from regular use, personal comfort preferences and an unsuitable firmness choice are not generally considered manufacturing defects.

If you're unsure whether the issue you're experiencing may be covered by the warranty, email hello@comfi.co.nz and our team can help you determine the next step.

Your rights under New Zealand consumer law

This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. Nothing in this warranty limits or excludes your rights or remedies under the Act.
