We’re Vicki and Susie, co-founders of Comfi, and the two humans behind everything you see, read, and (hopefully soon) sleep on.
We started Comfi because buying a good bed had become way too hard, too confusing, and frankly… a bit ridiculous.
Endless “sales” that never end. Hundreds of models with forgettable names. Pushy salespeople. Latex vs memory foam vs pocket springs vs “what on earth am I doing with my Saturday?”
Sound familiar?
So we decided to turn the whole thing on its head.
Our mission: to make buying a great bed easy
Our mission is simple: make it easy to buy a great bed, so you can get back to the good stuff.
Like sleeping. Functioning. Not snapping at your family because you’re running on fumes. You know, the essentials.

When we say we’ve simplified bed buying, we mean it. Buying a bed with Comfi means:

No smoke and mirrors. No “50% off this weekend only” (but also every other weekend). We price our beds fairly from the start. We show you what the layers are inside the bed and why there is a difference in price between each model (there are only 3).
No jargon, no pressure, no fluff
Just the information you actually need to make a confident decision.
And when you have questions? You’re talking to us, the owners. Not a call centre. Not a salesperson five steps removed from the people who make the beds.
We genuinely care more about whether you’re sleeping well than whether we can upsell you something you don’t need.

All our mattresses are made right here in New Zealand, and that matters to us. We are proud to be certified with the ‘Buy New Zealand Made’ brand, recognised as a trusted country of origin mark for our three mattress ranges
It means we know exactly who is making your bed. We can keep a close eye on quality. And your money stays in the local economy rather than disappearing offshore.
It also means we’re backing local craftsmanship and local jobs, which feels like the right thing to do.
Our social purpose: sleep for those who need it most
We also believe good sleep shouldn’t be a luxury.
That’s why for every five beds we sell, we donate a mattress to one of our charity partners supporting individuals and families who really need a safe, comfortable place to sleep.
When you buy from Comfi, you’re not just upgrading your own bed. You’re helping someone else finally get a proper night’s rest too.
Our environmental purpose: the only product stewardship scheme of its kind in NZ
Old mattresses are a nightmare for landfill and the environment. Most of them go in and sit there for decades.
We didn’t love that idea, so we partnered with All Heart, becoming the only bed business in New Zealand with a full product stewardship scheme for mattresses.
Here’s how it works:

When you buy a Comfi bed, we can collect your old mattress

It’s sent to All Heart, where it’s downcycled and diverted from landfill

Usable materials are recovered and repurposed, instead of being dumped

You get a fresh start; your old bed gets a responsible ending
It’s one of the things we’re most proud of, because “out of sight, out of mind” isn’t a great plan for the planet.
The part we want you to remember most
As two mothers ourselves, we are genuinely here to help, not to hustle.
